Gastroenterology is one of the finest departments in which only being skillful is not enough,you need to have patience to handle the patients and their queries because this department is concerned with your digestive system. We were always surrounded by the patients who are going for endoscopy, colonoscopy and also surrounded by their feces, gases, bad odour. I know for common people these things will disguise them but for doctors here they don't even know the word disgusting. Doctors treat their patients equally and worthfully so feces,odour don't even bother them. Actually those are the patients who feel insecure and shy to express what they really feel just because of such outcome but it is not like that. All the people here, are very helpful,dutiful and know their work and responsibilities.

在胃肠病科实习，只有熟练技术是不够的，你需要有耐心处理病人和他们的问题。我们总是被需要进行内窥镜检查、结肠镜检查的病人包围着，还有粪便、气体和难闻的气味。对于普通人来说这些事情非常恶心，但是对于这里的医生来说，他们甚至不知道“恶心”这个词。正因为医生平等地对待他们的病人，所以像粪便、恶臭甚至更本不会影响到他们。尽管患者担心这些因而感到不安全和羞于表达自己的真实感受，但这里的所有人都非常乐于助人，尽职尽责，并且知道他们的工作和责任。

The doctor who is incharge of me during my internship in this department is very skillful and knowledgeable and he knows how to teach and how to treat very well. During my time here, I feel grateful towards my job, my education and my career. I'm very inspired by the work and dedication of all the staffs here. Even if I was not assisting or helping the doctors but mere looking at them performing procedures gave me goosebumps and I feel I need to have that appetite of being more knowledgeable, skillful and responsible. All I understand is by gaining just theoretical knowledge won't take you anywhere, your theory along with practicals is what makes you skillful and build your path towards a dutiful doctor because there are so many things which are different in books and in real as human body varies from person to person for example, some have allergies to certain drugs and others don't have to the same drug so it is very important to support your theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge, that will help us to correlate things in the near future. 

我的带教医生知识渊博、技术熟练，他知道如何治疗病人和教学生。在这里的这段时间里，我对自己的工作、学习和职业生涯引以为荣，这里所有员工的工作和奉献精神让我深受鼓舞。即使我没有帮助医生做事情而只是看着他们治疗病人，也会让我起鸡皮疙瘩。我觉得我需要有更有知识、更熟练和更有责任感。我认识到仅仅获得理论知识不会带你去任何地方，理论结合实践是成为一个尽职尽责医生的必经之路。书本知识和临床实践很多时候是不一样的，因为每个人的身体不尽相同。例如，有些人对某些药物过敏、而另一些人完全没有，所以用实践支持你的理论是非常重要的，这有助于我们将不同的事情联系起来。

Practice is the key. More you practice, more you gain skills and confidence. I also visited to casualties, there I understand we need to be quick witted and should have the presence of mind to know when, how and how long we need to perform the procedures and the lesson I learned from here is that "No one is born intelligent, it's our hard-work, perseverance and more and more practice which makes us the real winner". In school, we compete with 70 students in class to obtain that title of top/scholar student but during the times in the hospital, when the patient's responsibility is solely given to you then there you need to compete with one and only yourself because at that time, it is just you and your skills and all the practice you had all this days with you. When you start considering your profession as one of the key aspect of life then in real sense you'll know the real essence of the profession". I learned a lot so it is not just an experience but it is an emotion which I felt since the day 1 of internship, writing this is just a way to express it in a immaculate way.

实践是关键，练习得越多就越能获得技能和信心，因为在紧急时刻留给医生决断的时间不多。我从这里学到 “没有人天生聪明。是努力、勤奋和实践才使我们成为真正的赢家”。在学校，我们与70名同班同学竞争；在医院，当病人把自己完全交给你时，你需要和你自己竞争，用上所有所学的知识和技能。当你开始把你的职业视为生活的一个关键方面时，那你就会知道这个职业的真正本质 。我从毕业实习中学到了很多，这不仅仅是一次经历，而是我从实习的第一天就感受到的一种情感。

As I'm in medicine department, so our usual day starts with the ward rounds. During rounds, we check the patient's present condition and then laoshi describe the disease. We note down the new stuffs we learned from rounds and then check the patient's history records and if we have any doubts we ask about it. Laoshi is very cooperative. We discuss the progress of the treatment and also discuss what are the other ways to treat the same condition. I also ask laoshi if there are specific things that are more practically based and not theory based so that we able to relate things more practically. At the end of the week,we ask laoshi to give us some interesting cases and ask laoshi why this case is considered complicated and what is their opinion and how to approach it. It is not possible to laoshi to answer all the questions because time is limited and they have heavy duties but whenever they gets time, they solve our questions. Almost all of the times we learn from observation as it is the key aspect of learning,I can say that I'm still learning how to observe more efficiently and more profoundly.

我们通常的一天从查房开始。在查房过程中，我们检查患者的现状，然后老师描述疾病。我们记下从查房中学到的新资料，然后检查患者的病史，如果我们有任何疑问，我们会询问老师。我们不仅接讨论这个病人的治疗，也经常问老师其他类似的病案，这样我们就能做更多的联系。在周末，我们请老师给我们一些有趣的案例，并问老师为什么这个案例被认为是复杂的以及他们是如何处理。尽管我们的带教老师工作繁重，但只要有时间他们就会解决我们的问题。几乎所有时候我们都从观察中学习，因为这是学习的关键方面。我仍然在学习如何更有效、更深刻地观察。

For a medical student, a very tough part is going to be the beginning of internship as it is the short trailer of the life you're going to experience in the near future, so be prepared. From the day 1 when you start the internship, you'll be called as "intern". So with the name, there are many duties and responsibilities also came as it is also the part of education. You'll experience the joy of learning new, compassion for emergencies, seriousness of study, fear of the future, happiness of the present and hope for everyone's better health. 'Internship' this word may sound scary but this phase of medical school you'll be missing the most. You don't need to worry because this is also the phase of learning where you learn the most.

对于医学生来说，一个非常困难的部分将是实习的开始，因为它是你在不久的将来将要经历的生活的简短预告片。做好准备，从你开始实习的第一天开始，你将被称为 “实习生”。有了这个名字，就有了许多职责和责任。你将体验到学习新事物的快乐、对紧急情况的同情心、学习的迫切性、对未来的恐惧、对现在的幸福以及对更好健康的希望。“实习”这个词听起来可能很可怕，但会是你在医学院最想念的阶段。不必太担心，因为这也是你学习最多的阶段。

All the theoretical knowledge you gained in all these years, it'll be helping you in the hospitals in the practical format. Practice is more important and that's what you're going to do in the hospitals and gain new skills. Without practice you can't correlate the stuffs you studied in the books. Everyone needs to develop the skill of observation because that's the way you're learning most but for the observation, if you think you'll observe for 30 minutes and you'll know everything then this not gonna work. Actually in today's world everyone's habitual of quick responses, changes and short videos, we don't even watch the video which is above 10 minutes but if you're going to expect the same thing here then it'll not work. We have to develop more patience within ourselves to observe and learn. As doctors, we need to be updated and for that guidance from laoshi plays an important role. 

这些年来你获得的所有理论知识，都将以实际的形式帮助你在医院的工作。你要在医院做的就是实践并获得新技能，没有临床实践，你就无法将书本知识联系起来。每个人都需要学习观察，因为这是你学习最多的方式。但如果你认为观察30分钟就会知道一切，那么这是行不通的。事实上，在当今世界，每个人都习惯于快速反应、变化和短视频，我们甚至不看10分钟以上的视频。但是如果你带着这样的心态来医院实习，那绝对行不通。我们必须培养更多的耐心来观察和学习。我们需要时时更新知识，带教老师的指导起着重要的作用。

All the Laoshis are very cooperative, you just need to have patience, you need to adopt the habit of self study so that you can relate the diseases with patients. If you have any questions or doubts, try to make a list of queries and when laoshi gets free time, try to ask them as I think this is the most effective way to solve doubts and by this way laoshi will definitely answer you. All the Laoshi are very dutiful, responsible and ready to help students. Remember self study is the key. At last, I wanna say that we must try to develop patience, perseverance and do hard work and study today, so that we'll be the best version of ourselves tomorrow.

所有的老师都很合作，你需要有耐心、养成自学的习惯，这样你就可以把疾病和病人联系起来。如果你有任何问题或疑问，试着先列出一个问题清单，当老师有空的时候再提问，通常老师会回答你的问题，这是我认为解决问题的最有效方法。所有的老师都非常尽职尽责和愿意帮助学生，但自学是关键。最后我想说的是，我们今天必须努力培养耐心和毅力，努力工作和学习，这样我们明天才能成为最好的自己。让我们一起加油!
